New Paper published
We are very proud to announce that our new paper was published in Leukemia a few days ago.
In this work, Lara shows that mutations known in the context of clonal hematopoiesis can function as MRD marker in AML patients that underwent allogeneic HSCT.
The full paper can be see here:
Prognostic impact of measurable residual clonal hematopoiesis in acute myeloid leukemia patients after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
We mourn our friend
On December 17, 2022 our friend and group leader Sebastian Schwind passed after a long fight against cancer.
The current and past member of this lab would like to express their deepest gratitude for his guidance, mentorship, patience, and friendship over the past 10 years. Although he left us much too early, he left a lasting impact on us as physicians and researchers.
We will do our best to honour him with our ongoing work, which would not have been possible without him.

New Paper published
In a nice combined effort between former as well as new lab members we were able to publish our newest paper in Blood Advances. Marius analyzed IDH1 and IDH2 mutations in AML patients undergoing an allogeneic stem cell transplantation and reported on both their prognostic relevance at AML diagnosis as well as their utility as MRD marker in remission prior to transplantation.

EBMT 48th Annual Meeting Program and Abstracts available
We are happy to see both our abstracts submitted by Lara and Lisa accepted at this year's EBMT meeting.
Lara will present her data on the prognostic relevance of telomere length in AML in Oral session 15: New drugs, gene therapy, and experimental transplantation:
INCREASED DIAGNOSTIC TELOMERE LENGTH ASSOCIATES WITH HIGHER RELAPSE RATES IN TRANSPLANTED ACUTE MYELOID LEUKEMIA PATIENTS
Lisa will present her data focusing on the Knowledge Bank approach and it's predictive power in AML patients receiving an allogeneic transplantation in the Poster Session Acute Leukemias:
OUTCOME PREDICTION BY THE KNOWLEDGE BANK APPROACH IN AML PATIENTS UNDERGOING ALLOGENEIC STEM CELL TRANSPLANTATION
We are also happy for our colleagues Saskia Hell (Oral Session 7) and Song-Yau Wang (Poster 625) for their oppurtunity to present their exciting data.

New paper online!
This weekend, our most recent paper was published in Cancers!
Donata analyzed 659 AML patients receiving an allogeneic stem cell transplantation regarding the incidence and prognostic relevance of a trisomy 8 as sole or additional cytogenetic aberration. We show that - in the whole patient cohort as well as in the different ELN genetic risk groups - the presence of a trisomy 8 does not provide prognostic information and that the MRD status at transplantation is equally important as in unselected patient cohorts.

Risk Stratification, Measurable Residual Disease, and Outcomes of AML Patients with a Trisomy 8 Undergoing Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

ASH 2021 abstracts are available!
We were able to contribute to this year's ASH Annual Meeting in Atlanta/Georgia three of our analyses and glad to see them accepted for publication!
Additionally, Donata and Madlen were both rewarded with an ASH Abstract achievement award for their work.
